Inked Posting from N800

I used Xournal to create the above posting. The resizing done by WordPress lowered image quality and actually doesn’t do justice to the original image, which is sharp and clear.

After all this time it looks like you’re still Writing On Your Palm. heh…

  2. mconnick says:

Yes, Writing On Your Palm was a great web site. Does it still exist?

  3. Aaron says:

Yup, but it’s a bit scattered now. Jeff is still bloggin over at http://www.jeffkirvin.net/

And the Yahoo Group was moved over to Google Groups a while back too (not sure if you were still around when that happened). You can find that here:

Interestingly enough, even though you haven’t posted in a few years, your blog and flickr posts still get brought up. Especially when you show off new toys. :)

  4. [...] If you fancy using your N800 to put up some cool, and ever-so-slightly retro, inked postings then no problem, Michael Connick over at his Staying Connected blog has shown us that it can be done. [...]

How did you export the image from Xournal? I’m trying to do the same on my 770, but the only export option I saw was for PDF. Did you take a screenshot instead of exporting straight from Xournal? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

  6. mconnick says:

Actually I exported it as a PDF file, uploaded it to my PC via the web server on the PC, and then used SnagIt to capture the image and upload it to the blog. I guess that was kind of cheating, but like you I couldn’t find anyway to accomplish it directly from my N800. I actually didn’t think of doing a screen capture on the N800 – that would have worked!

how did you manage to get it running on your n800? maemo.org has only a version for os2006.

  8. mconnick says:

Check out http://henryykt.googlepages.com/xournalforn800 for getting a version of Xournal that runs on the N800.
