Can This Really Be The End?

bloghead.jpg

Close observers will notice a change in the heading of this blog: no longer does it mention the Nokia N800. That’s right, I’ve retired this little computer from active service and am looking for a good home for it right now. Over two months experience with my Kohjinsha SH6 has shown me that this UMPC has made the Nokia N800 completely superfluous to my computing needs. The N800 is a great little computer - I just don’t need it anymore!

    Wow!
You really think that there’s no space for an N800.

The Treo is your MID and the SH8 is your mobile PC?

    Steve.

I guess that’s correct - I do use my Treo as something of a MID. I often use it to read Web pages and the mobile version of Google Reader, and to pick up email.

Right now I’m at a sewing store with my wife attending a sewing demonstration she’s interested in - and I’m not! So I brought my SH6 with me and right now it’s tethered to my Treo 700p which is acting as a wireless modem. The whole kit fits inside a Philips DVD player case that I picked up at Walmart.

So why do I need to N800, too?

Always sad to see old tech retired (so I usually run it into the ground! :P ). In fact, I bring along an old HP iPaq 2210 I don’t use anymore that’s loaded w/ games for my son to play with (instead of buying a DS or PSP).

I found your website because I’m interested in UMPCs and I’m trying to decide which gadget to get. I’m trying to decide among the Kohjinsha/Vye, something like a Q1U, and maybe even the Fujitsu U810. One thing I noticed during my search for different websites and information on UMPCs and tablet PCs is that all you guys seem to know each other! :)

Thanks for the info you put out and I look forward to your further adventures with the SH6
