More iPod Touch Favorites

Last week I published a posting here about my favorite iPod Touch applications. These are applications that I use every single day. However, in addition to those I have other favorites that I only use one or more times a week. This posting will discuss these applications that I find valuable but use less frequently.

Web Applications

Wikipedia for iPhone/Touch: Just yesterday my wife asked me “How old is Billy Joel?” Where would I go for this information but Wikipedia and I’d use this very nice iPhone/Touch-friendly portal to access it.

IMDB for iPhone/Touch: Just like the Wikipedia portal above, I use this iPhone/Touch-friendly portal for looking up information about movies, TV shows, and actors.

TV Guide for iPhone/Touch: This is the nicest application I’ve found for looking up what’s on TV on my Touch.

Podcaster: This application allows me to listen to those podcasts I just want to occasionally hear. It enables me to stream individual podcast episodes to my Touch without having to subscribe to them via iTunes and store them on my Touch.

Readburner for iPhone/Touch: Readburner lets me see RSS feed articles that have been shared by Google Reader users. By viewing the most popular articles I often find valuable pieces of information I would otherwise miss.

NY Times River of News: A great news site with articles organized by when they were created/updated.

AP News: I think this is the best single news site available for the iPhone/Touch, and even includes local news.

JiveTalk: The is an iPhone/Touch-optimized IM client. I use it for participating in GoogleTalk IM sessions.

Bible Reader for iPhone/Touch: This is the nicest Bible reader I’ve found for the iPhone/Touch.

Accuradio: This application provides the largest variety of streaming Internet radio stations for the iPhone/Touch that I’ve been able to find – over 300 stations.
