I used Chocolate Shake, my Asus Eee 1000h, all last week in my home office while working for a client in the Philadelphia area. The system completely met all of my expectations for it.
I typically had Chrome with 5 tabs open, IE to access my company’s Outlook Web Access system for work email, Excel, and Powerpoint executing on Chocolate Shake at the same time. Performance was superb. It handled all those applications without a hiccup. I used a KVM switch to share my Dell desktop’s 17″ widescreen monitor, keyboard, and mouse with Chocolate Shake. As I mentioned in a previous post, I also used my new Startech USB to VGA 4-in-1 Docking Station to drive the monitor, since the native video driver on the 1000h doesn’t support the 1440 X 900 resolution of the 17″ HP monitor, while the video driver of the docking station does.
So, I’m a happy camper and am now satisfied that Chocolate Shake will be able to completely replace my old Kohjinsha SH6 UMPC as my work computer. Anyone interested in buying a slightly used SH6?

I got 1000h and this $450 laptop is a wonder. I got it as a regular laptop rather than so called netbook, and it meets all my requirements pretty well. Screen, battery, weight, power all satisfactory. Sure, I like to see some more screen pixels (especially vertical ones), but it’s not a deal breaker. Bad news for the industry, but I’ll be hard pressed to pay more than $500 for any kind of laptop in the future.

I’m really thinking purchasing an Asus Eee. I see you can now get them at Target, which greatly increases the impulse buying opportunity.
