Siri is a wonderful application that provides iPhone users with a voice-activated, natural language-processing, personal assistant. You can request information from Siri simply by asking it questions like “Where is the best Mexican restaurant near me” or “What family-oriented movies are playing today.” Siri Assistant can handle requests for information on restaurants, events, movies, taxis, weather and local points of interest. It can also provide information on flight status, email you reminders, and even respond to more general questions. I asked it “What is the capital of South Dakota”, and it correctly answered “Pierre”, and provided a bunch more information on that city.
It’s an amazing program. Siri states that it’s optimized for the iPhone 3GS, but it works fine on my 3G. It’s a free application, so there’s no excuse for not downloading it for your iPhone!
