Hi, I’m Michael Connick. This Web site is devoted to the topic of using mobile computing technology to stay connected to the world. This is an important topic to me as I’m a computer consultant who travels nearly every week. I use my iPhone 3G, Asus Eee 900 XP PC, and Kohjinsha SH6 UMPC everyday to perform my job and stay connected to the world through the Internet.
Hi Michael,
I found your name when looking up the Nokia N800.
I hope this is an appropiate way to contact you.
I was wondering if it is possible to connect the N800 to a projector directly to show an audience the screen contents.
I suppose you could connect the n800 to a laptop which can then be connected to the projector but a better solution would be to skip the laptop if possible.
Many thanks in advance
Richard
I don’t know of any way to connect an N800 directly to a projector. It’s one of the major limitations of the device.
Michael
Dear Michael
I found you after I realized that updates were filling up C: on my 900
I read your personal posts which bring tears to my eyes
I am asking for your help with the 900. I am new to xp as well
I tried to follow your instructions
I don’t have a dvd drive so I can’t use the disc
Can I still do what you have done without using the disc?
Thank you very much in advance
Alice
You don’t need a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive to follow my directions for the Eee 900, although it might make it easier to have one and start off from a complete restore.
Michael
Thank you for your reply.
Does it suit you to help me with this?
One problem I have is not knowing what programs I can delete.
Do you have a contact address?
Dear Michael,
I read your article about your Cradlepoint PHS300 after I purchased one for myself this week. However, I have not been able to get my AT&T USBconnect Mercury modem (just like yours) to connect. I have worked with TS at CP online (I am on hold with phone support now) to no avail. I see in your picture of your hardware setup that your modem lights are on. My modem light initially appears once I connect to router then disappears and never reappears and the connection light remains amber. Did this happen to you on your initial setup? Do you have any thoughts on the problem? I appreciate any insight you may have. Thank you and Happy New Year.
My experience with the modem lights is different: the leftmost light lights almost immediately and then the right one initially comes on as amber (indicating an Edge connection) and then shortly after turns blue (indicating a 3G connection – assuming I’m in an area that has 3G service).
My first question is probably pretty obvious: does the modem work OK when directly plugged into your computer?
Michael
